Baltimore Washington Chapter, HPS

Education and Training Committee

Ed Tupin, Chair

The Training and Education Committee is a Standing Committee of the Baltimore-Washington Chapter of the Health Physics Society. The chair of the Committee is appointed by the Chapter President.

Although the Training and Education Committee may from time to time carry out other tasks, its primary role is to assure the smooth functioning of the Health Physics Certification Review Course offered annually by the Baltimore-Washington Chapter, usually from January to May. This course has been taught on an almost continuous basis for almost 40 years, and is known throughout the health physics community for its high quality and value in aiding the serious health physicist to prepare to present Parts I and II of the ABHP Health Physics Certification Examination.

The course serves the dual purpose of offering the health physicist a structured environment in which to improve and deepen his or her professional competency at modest cost, while at the same time providing the Chapter (a nonprofit organization) with a major source of revenue to carry out its other educational objectives.
