Contacts: Rich Hoerth, Ning Zhang, and Michelle Gibbs. The Nuclear Technology program is a shared program between Lakeshore Technical College (LTC) in Cleveland, WI and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) in Green Bay, WI. Classes are offered in a traditional classroom setting using Interactive Television (ITV) methods to link the two Technical Colleges. For flexibility, some classes may be taken in an online format through LTC using established distance learning methods. The Nuclear Technology program is closely linked with the Radiation Safety Technician Certificate program. LTC offers a two-year associate degree Nuclear Technology program with flexible delivery options. At LTC, prospective students have 3 basic options for obtaining an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree: Option 1 Nuclear Technology Associate Degree - Traditional Program. Attend classes at either the LTC or NWTC campus. Recommended for students living in NE WI who have recently completed high school or individuals looking to change careers and are interested in gaining an entry-level position in the nuclear power industry; Option 2 Nuclear Technology Associate Degree with Radiation Safety Concentration - Online. Take classes either online or on campus depending on your physical location. This option is recommended for students already working in the nuclear power industry but residing outside WI who wish to make use of their occupational experience in obtaining an Associate Degree.; or Option 3 Radiation Safety Technician Certificates - Online. This option is recommended for students looking for a stepped-approach to completing only the technical courses in Radiation Safety. Completion of all three certificates along with recommended general-education courses can result in an AAS degree if desired. This option can also be useful to those who already have a B.S. and want or need only the technical courses in Radiation Safety.
